Oak Tree Gardens latest.

Blue Cedar Homes appoints Hall & Scott to market exclusive new retirement homes.

Age-exclusive new homebuilder Blue Cedar Homes has appointed independent estate agent Hall & Scott to market its latest development in the East Devon woodland village of West Hill.

When complete, Oak Tree Gardens, will consist of 10 detached properties built exclusively for the over 55s just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the village.

A mix of two-storey houses and bungalows are on offer at Oak Tree Gardens and, like all Blue Cedar Homes developments, the houses are arranged around communal landscaped gardens with a central summerhouse. All properties have generous living areas and will be finished to a high specification with quality fixtures and fittings used throughout, providing low living and maintenance costs.

Located on the edge of the Otter Valley, West Hill offers the tranquillity of a rural East Devon village whilst being only a short drive from the city of Exeter and the Jurassic Coast.

The village boasts a number of local amenities, including a village store, Post Office, butcher and garage. The community also enjoys a strong social scene with a number of different clubs and activities taking place at the village hall.

West Hill is well placed for walking or cycling through the East Devon countryside, it is also close to the popular seaside resort of Sidmouth, which sits along the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site.

With offices in Ottery St Mary, West Hill, Sidmouth, Topsham and Exmouth, Hall & Scott have extensive knowledge of the local area and have been appointed by Exeter-based Blue Cedar Homes to market the new homes at Oak Tree Gardens.

Nick Hall from Hall & Scott’s Ottery St. Mary office said: “West Hill is a destination of choice for retirees as it offers an oasis of calm not too far from Devon’s capital city of Exeter.

“We’re really pleased to be marketing these beautiful houses at Oak Tree Gardens and predict that they are likely to receive a great deal of interest. There’s a real demand for spacious, modern homes, especially those with fewer bedrooms which are particularly appealing to older buyers who may wish to downsize and free themselves from the running costs, maintenance and responsibilities linked to running a larger, older home.”

As with all Blue Cedar Homes developments, Oak Tree Gardens will benefit from a locally employed visiting Estate Manager who is responsible for the general maintenance and security of the scheme. The Estate Manager undertakes a range of different services including upkeep of both the communal and private gardens as well as external window cleaning, gutter clearing and waste recycling management.

Nick Yeo, Area Director for Blue Cedar Homes said: “All of our developments are built in areas that are naturally desirably to live, and indeed, retire in and Oak Tree Gardens is no exception.

“What is slightly different for us is that Oak Tree Gardens includes a selection of bungalows as we’re finding that the desire to retire to a single-storey property is, once again, on the rise.”

Homes at Oak Tree Gardens are due to be completed in winter 2016. For more information or to register your interest, please contact Hall & Scott’s Ottery St Mary office on 01404 812000 or email ottery@hallandscott.co.uk
