Blue Cedar Homes mark a milestone with 100th sale.

Blue Cedar Homes, the West Country specialist builder of age-exclusive new homes, marked an important milestone when they welcomed Mr and Mrs Stuart to their new home in the East Devon seaside town of Budleigh Salterton.

Graham and Susan Stuart have become the company’s 100th homebuyers after moving into their detached house at The Gardens, Park Lane.

Now entering their eighth year, Blue Cedar Homes, with offices in Exeter and Bristol, have designed and built bespoke developments across the Westcountry and beyond exclusively for the over 55s.

The Gardens is Blue Cedar Homes’ third development in the picturesque town of Budleigh Salterton and became the destination of choice for Graham and Susan Stuart when they decided it was time for a change of lifestyle.

Susan Stuart said: “When we decided to downsize from our larger four-bedroom property in Budleigh, we knew we didn’t want to move too far as we have grown to love this beautiful town and have family nearby.”

Having moved all around the world for Graham’s job as a logistics manager, including several years spent in Southern India, the couple were keen to continue travelling in their retirement.

Susan said: “We were particularly drawn to the idea of the visiting Estate Manager at Blue Cedar developments. We met Peter, The Gardens’ Estate Manager, who gave us confidence and we trust him to keep an eye on our property when we are away.”

A feature of all Blue Cedar Homes developments, the locally employed visiting Estate Manager helps to maintain the communal areas of the development as well as helping homeowners with any other day to day jobs.

Benefits such as these have helped to secure Blue Cedar Homes’ reputation as a bespoke developer of new homes for the active retired. The interior of each property is designed for stylish, contemporary and independent living. In addition, the houses offer a larger and more flexible living space compared to average new build homes and can be altered if circumstances change in later life. The company incorporates this approach into all their schemes.

Managing Director of Blue Cedar Homes, Nick Hole said: “We build our developments to enable people to enjoy their retirement in desirable locations and part of this is making sure our properties are as comfortable and spacious as possible. Often our properties are selected when couples or individuals make the choice to downsize, but this shouldn’t mean a compromise on space, quality or standards, instead we like to think of it as right-sizing.”

All homes at The Gardens have now been sold although Blue Cedar Homes have a number of developments due for completion in 2016 across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and Monmouthshire.

The company recently commenced construction of the 200th Blue Cedar Homes property and has earned a place in the “1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2016 Report”, produced by the London Stock Exchange Group, for its innovative and award-winning developments for the “active retired”.
