A focus on our Sales and Marketing Director, Chris Fayers.

In the next instalment of our ‘Focus on’ series, we’re delighted to be featuring another key member of our senior team – our Sales and Marketing Director, Chris Fayers.

Leading our sales and marketing team, Chris is responsible for managing and overseeing all sales and marketing operations here at Blue Cedar Homes. That means ensuring sales are coming through and being processed efficiently; construction is completed on time and to a high standard; and all developments are marketed successfully.

With over 35 years’ experience in residential property sales and new homes development, Chris is a very valuable team member and has been fundamental in helping Blue Cedar Homes establish itself as an award-winning developer of high-quality, purpose-built homes for discerning buyers aged over 55.

Before coming on board as a Sales Director at Blue Cedar Homes six years ago, Chris spent over 30 years working at Blue Cedar Homes’ parent company, Eagle One. During this time, Chris was involved in major redevelopment works at Exmouth Quay in Devon which transformed the town’s working dock into an attractive new residential scheme in the 1990s.

The 270-unit mix marina scheme is one of Chris’ most significant achievements throughout his career as it is one of the projects which triggered the rebirth of Exmouth from the 1980s onwards. During the 25-year project, many saw Exmouth transform from a fairly tired seaside town into the pretty, attractive and respectable town it is today. Three decades later, Chris is delighted to be back in Exmouth, overseeing construction on a new Blue Cedar Homes scheme of 23 freehold houses, each with their own garage, private parking space and private rear gardens.

Reflecting on those early days at Eagle One, Chris says: “Having been involved in all the Company’s residential developments, it was always clear to us that there was a large gap in the market for a small scheme of purpose-built retirement housing that wasn’t based around flats.

“We noticed that there were a great number of people wanting to ‘rightsize’ from their larger country houses into luxury homes which were more suitable for their changing needs. With very limited options on the market, we saw a lot of promise in a development of high-quality, detached houses on smaller residential estates where likeminded people could truly enjoy their retirement in various beautiful locations across the South West.

“Bringing this together with an Estate Management Company who could look after the gardens and external property maintenance, Blue Cedar Homes was created to offer the over 55s an opportunity to live in an environment which facilitates the lifestyles they wish to lead, all without having to worry about mowing the lawn or clearing the gutters as they get older.”

Brought on board to help market and lead on Blue Cedar Homes’ vision, Chris joined Blue Cedar Homes as Sales Director in 2016 whilst continuing to lead residential projects at Eagle One.

Fast forward six years and Chris still works across both companies, managing the sales pipeline across all Blue Cedar Homes’ developments, and ensuring construction and sales are carried out in an excellent and timely manner, to the quality we expect.

Chris says: “The most enjoyable part of my role is always the customers. I love meeting all the owners that move into our new properties and hearing all about their lives and experiences. Learning how much they love the product, standard, and concept of our schemes always reinforces why the team works so hard to deliver such a high-quality product in the first place.”

Sharing his advice for someone interested in pursuing a career in property sales, Chris says: “If you’re all about getting out and meeting new people, a career in residential sales and marketing could be really fulfilling for you. Ultimately, people love buying houses, so having the opportunity to help assist customers at such an exciting time in their lives is very rewarding. Every day you would be helping people achieve big milestones and find their perfect forever home.”

Chris is currently overseeing sales and construction for various schemes across the South West in Devon and Somerset. We look forward to sharing further updates on these sites with you in the near future.
