There is an abundance of amazing wildlife to discover at the Slimbridge Wetland Centre, from the famous Bewick’s swans to the short-eared barn owls. Chastleton House, Chastleton

Step inside the rare Jacobean country house and discover the myths and memories of 400 years of family life at Chastleton House. Built between 1607 and 1612 this impressive ancient house has remained unchanged and is said to be considered one of the finest and most perfectly proportioned country houses of the early 17th century. Visiting Chastelton House, set amidst the elegant gardens and topiary, makes for a fantastic day out with lots of history to learn about and scenery to admire.

Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway

Find it: WR12 7DF, 2 miles from Cotswold Gardens


Operated by volunteers, this heritage railway which runs between Gloucestershire and Worcestershire takes you through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cotswolds. Set off on your railway journey through the Cotswolds from Broadway Station just a 15-minute walk from the village centre and admire the views of the nearby hamlets and villages that look across to the Malvern Hills and beyond.

Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre

Home to the country’s largest private collection of trees and shrubs, Basford Arboretum and Garden Centre offers a chance to explore the wonders of nature through the changing seasons. With over 2,850 labelled specimens and over 1,300 different trees, shrubs and bamboo, visiting the centre will offer something new to appreciate each time.

Broadway Tower, Worcestershire

The Cotswolds’ highest tower, built in 1798, stands at 65ft high atop an ancient beacon site. Broadway Tower is a must-see, offering extensive far-reaching views at every angle and if you are lucky you might even have the chance to spot some red deer on the grounds surrounding the tower. A great day out for all the family to enjoy, especially lovers of wildlife and the fresh countryside breeze. After your walk up the public footpath to the tower, reward yourself with a warm drink and scrumptious refreshment, or maybe even something a little stronger at the Morris & Brown Café.

Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park

Said to be the nation’s favourite farmer, Adam Henson, commonly known for his work on BBC’s Countryfile, is also the owner of the Cotswold Farm Park, founded in 1971 by Adam’s father, Joe Henson, to help protect some of the rare farm animal breeds. The farm is now run by both Adam and his business partner, Dan, who proudly continue in Adam’s father’s footsteps delivering the best of British farming through a sustainable and authentic approach. Providing a fantastic insight into farm life, the Cotswold Farm Park is open daily from the 16th February from 10.30am until 4pm.

Cotswold Motoring Museum, Bourton On the Water

Take a journey back in time through the history of 20th century motoring at the Cotswold Motoring Museum. There is so much to see and discover at this rare museum, from vintage motorbikes to toys from the bygone age. The tour back in time doesn’t end at the vast collections of motors, there is also a Mill Gallery filled to the brim with excellent vehicles, caravans and motoring curiosities. Not to mention the Blacksmith’s workshop, Windrush Alley, Jack Lake’s Garage and the Paved Paradise, where you will take a closer at how the motors were made and get a glimpse of motoring from street level.

National Trust Snowshill Manor and Garden

Find it:  WR12 7JU, 6 miles from Cotswold Gardens


Snowshill Manor and Garden is the ideal day out on your doorstep. Jam packed with hundreds of interesting items collected by Charles Wade, who restored and renovated the house after he bought it in 1919. Wade rather uniquely named each room and gave them a theme and a certain purpose, making for a very insightful visit! After exploring the inside of Snowshill Manor, be sure to look around the sublime green gardens, comprising two acres which include formal lawns, colourful borders and simply stunning water features.
