Dartmouth

Find it: 8 miles from The Millpool, 25 miles from Fairway Gardens, 35 miles from Stannary Gardens, and 44 miles from Kelly Gardens.


Situated at the mouth of the meandering River Dart, Dartmouth provides the perfect year-round destination for a day trip, short break or holiday. The vibrant harbour town hosts many festivals, events, exhibitions and markets throughout the year, creating a buzz that lights up the town and entertains locals and visitors from far and wide. There’s plenty to see and do in this harbour town, from exploring the over 600 year old Dartmouth Castle, stepping back in time and boarding the nostalgic steam train to Paignton, or spending the day on a river trip to Agatha Christie’s beloved holiday home, Greenway, near Dittisham – which boasts landscaped gardens overlooking the river. Greenway House and Garden, now owned by the National Trust, has even been described as ‘the loveliest place in the world’. Totnes

This captivating market town sits at the head of the estuary of the River Dart, just a 12-minute drive from our Stoke Gabriel development, The Millpool. Known for its quirky, quaint nature, Totnes is home to a bustling community with independent shops and high-quality cafes throughout the town, providing the perfect day out for a spot of shopping. Overlooking the town is Totnes Castle, a historical point of interest that stands as a mighty legacy to the power of the Normans.

This unique hot spot in South Devon is renowned for its character, passion for health and wellness and takes pride in being a little bit out of the ordinary. In the very heart of Devon, you will find the magical moorland of Dartmoor National Park. Visitors to Dartmoor can blow away the cobwebs with a stroll beside the fast-flowing winding rivers and the deep wooded valleys. There are several beautiful waterfalls and reservoirs to discover, including Lydford Gorge, Becky Falls and Burrator Reservoir. Venture to the Edwardian splendor of Bovey Castle for an exceptional lunch or decadent afternoon tea in front of a roaring fire, while admiring the beautiful country surroundings.
